Maria Van Tintelen

I'm Maria Van Tintelen, a self-taught abstract landscape painter based in Trowbridge, Wiltshire. My work is rooted in a deep desire to bring hope and encouragement through art. Using acrylics, mixed media, and touches of gold, I create textured, expressive landscapes that invite stillness, reflection, and renewal.

My paintings often explore the tension between the rawness of nature and the light that breaks through it—both literally and symbolically. Texture plays a central role in my process, allowing me to build layers that echo the complexity of emotion and the beauty found in imperfection.

Whether through a glowing horizon or a glimmer of gold leaf, my work is about finding light in unexpected places.
